Sponsor Scott Parlee, co-founded the San Francisco IHAD chapter and recruited his friends and colleagues in the Bay Area, Khira Griscavage and Tanya Capuano to join him on the board.

Together, they submitted a proposal to the Richard and Rhoda Goldman Fund and secured a $3.4 million commitment over a 14-year period. They hope to raise additional funds so that they can adopt additional classes of students for the "I Have a Dream" Program.

Scott Parlee works for Palm Inc., a handheld solution provider. He is a senior product manager and helps research, design, and deliver mobile and wireless handheld solutions to companies.

Scott also spent five years at Merck Pharmaceuticals in New York and Philadelphia, where his performance consistently placed him in top 10 percent of employees. While at Merck, Scott was active in the Junior Achievement program where he taught weekly economics courses to two 11th grade classes. This experience provided the opportunity to see first-hand that pursuing a college education is not a possibility in many disadvantaged youth's minds.

Scott holds an MM (MBA) from Kellogg, Northwestern University's Business School and attended Brown University, where he received his BS in Chemical Engineering and was captain of the wrestling team.
